From Florida to the World – My Love for Travel & How I Make It Happen

Since childhood, I’ve had a deep love for travel. There’s nothing like the thrill of discovering new places and meeting different people. I love stepping outside my routine, making unforgettable memories, and taking a well-earned break from daily chaos. Growing up, I didn’t travel much outside Florida, which might explain why the travel bug hit me so hard as an adult. Whether it’s exploring hidden Florida gems, venturing across the U.S., or flying to far-off destinations, I crave new experiences.

I don’t get to travel as often as I’d like (five kids—need I say more?). But that doesn’t stop me from researching and planning my next adventure. I’m a planner at heart—no way am I spending my vacation debating what to do next! I want to enjoy every second with as little stress as possible. Recently, I discovered the power of points and miles to score free or discounted travel, and I haven’t looked back. It’s been a total game-changer for saving money while making big travel dreams happen. In 2023, my husband and I took an EPIC 8-day Ireland road trip for only $2,600—all expenses included.

This past summer, we took a 12-day trip to Las Vegas and Zion National Park with a group of 10 people. Even though it was still a pricey trip, I managed to book airfare for less than $50 per person and covered four nights in Vegas (three rooms!) using points. The savings were huge. But beyond the money, this trip was priceless—so many incredible memories, laughter, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Right now, I’m planning a 10-day family trip to Costa Rica in July and I’m already plotting a big Italy adventure for 2026. My oldest will graduate that year, and I want to soak up some unforgettable family time before he heads to college. Not to mention my husband and I have been dying to get back to that amazing authentic food!

I’ll be documenting the planning process and sharing itineraries, destination guides, and insider travel tips. If you love travel—whether you’re a budget-conscious planner or just looking for inspiration—check out my TRAVEL section for all the details!
